62.18 km²Situated on the southeast coast of Sri Lanka, Bundala was declared a UNESCO Bio-sphere reserve in 2005.It plays an important part of the International bird migration ,of which the vast flocks of the Greater Flamingo is the highlight. It has a tropical monsoon climate, and has areas of salt and brackish water lagoon with dry thorny scrub and Jungle. It has an amazing array of Fauna from the Elephant to other wild animals, and over 190 species of birds and several species of amphibians and reptiles.
