Colombo

The Business capital of Sri Lanka  where the nations heart beats, is a cultural melting pot. While Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte is the  Administrative capital .The  fast growing city has a colorful history and has a diverse ethnic population. Its natural harbor being the center for shipping and trade  for thousands of years with the Persians ,Arabs Romans ,and Chinese visiting the Island in search of our famous spices. The Portuguese the Dutch and the British valued  Colombo for its great strategic value astride the sea lanes of the Indian ocean, and made it their capital . Colonial architecture is still visible around the city and carefully preserved for posterity. The present modern city with its Internationally acclaimed hotels ,shopping malls and restaurants,  theatres, and walkways with a vibrant  cosmopolitan population is an exciting and pleasurable experience for the Tourist. Some of the famous landmarks are the Galle face green, Viharamahadevi Park, Beira Lake, Mount Lavinia beach, Nelum Pokuna theatre,Colombo Lotus tower and the National museum. Colombo is also famous for its  fine dining and its multicultural cuisine, and its sophisticated life styles.
